Does hypnosis really work? Can it help me? Can I be hypnotized?
These are some of the questions that may be on your mind if you’re considering hypnotherapy as a treatment modality. When I first came across this approach, myself, I was pretty skeptical. I thought it was one of those things that could work for someone else…but not me. What I didn’t understand though, was that hypnosis isn’t something weird or mysterious. Hypnosis is simply a state of deeply focused concentration, where the subconscious mind is more open to suggestion. By tapping into this part of the mind, you can make amazing progress towards changing unwanted behaviors and habits.
This is my second career. Before I stumbled upon hypnotherapy, I was a courtroom litigator. I worked on a lot of cases that I was very proud of, where I felt like my work really made a difference in people’s lives. But, on the whole, I felt very suffocated by my job. Unable to cope with the stress, I developed anxiety, insomnia and chronic pain. At the suggestion of a friend, I went to go see a hypnotherapist to deal with my symptoms. The few sessions I had with her completely changed the course of my life. I became such a strong believer, that I decided to make it my life’s work to help other people transform their lives using their power of their minds.
I went back to school and completed my Masters in Psychology. I also completed an extensive training program at the Hypnosis Motivation Institute. I can now honestly say that I love my work and I get so much joy from seeing others succeed and achieve their goals and dreams.
